You are not only my best friend,

but my favorite color – Boysenberry.

It reminds me of magic

and your euphonious singing;

more enchanting than the sirens

and larger than the sailor’s ships.

The richness of the hue

evokes images of royalty;

the graceful monarch sitting 

on her crimson throne.

She is aspiration, perseverance, 

devotion to realize a dream.

The feminine shade

of lipstick, of wine,

conjures your soothing presence

and memories of us

as girls, in each other’s arms

weeping – yet feeling quite safe.  

Boysenberry is the color of 

overwhelming friendship and love.
